Job Posting - Syringe Exchange Program Coordinator AIDS Center of Queens County


Responsibilities:

•	Work collaboratively with providers to ensure comprehensive service
delivery to drug users throughout Queens
•	Develop and oversee peer outreach to target populations
•	Oversee/conduct Syringe Exchange services
•	Provide supervision and guidance to syringe exchange staff
•	Oversee harm reduction case management program
•	Maintain best practices to prevent needle stick injury
•	Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals to clients as needed
•	Oversee preparations of resources and van prior to each scheduled
session; maintain inventory of resources/supplies
•	Manage Hepatitis C and Overdose Prevention initiatives
•	Enter data and/or oversee data entry necessary for reporting
•	Work with funding agencies to ensure adherence to protocol
•	Write monthly reports of service provision for funding agencies and
ACQC’s Board of Directors
•	Provide oversight of Harm Reduction sites in the Director’s absence
•	Other duties as assigned by the Director of Mental Health Services

Minimum Qualifications

•	Bachelors Degree with 3+ years professional and/or life experience
in harm reduction
•	Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance use, and mental health issues
•	Willing to work evening hours
•	Sensitivity to ethnic, cultural and sexual minorities
•	Valid driver’s license in good standing

Organizational Relationships

•	Reports to the Director of Mental Health Services

Location

Throughout the Borough of Queens.

Salary

$55,000 commensurate with experience
