Final Alert -- Smoke a Joint, Lose Your License
On Monday, July 10, the California Assembly Transportation Committee will be holding hearings on SB 1198, by State Sen. Quentin Kopp, to reject the unfunded federal "Smoke A Joint Lose Your License" mandate.
Activists are urged to contact the committee now in support of SB 1198. Emphasis should be on the fact that SB 1198 says no to federal interference in state affairs. The strategy is to target Republicans on the committee, who are anti-drug but also oppose federal regulation. Their votes are needed to get this bill out of committee.
