In collaboration with the Drug Policy Foundation, DRCNet presented a new
online letter-writing service at the DPF conference last week (Nov. 6-9).
Now, you can use the DRCNet web site to look up the name of your Representative
and Senators, and to send them letters on a variety of issues. Just visit
http://www.drcnet.org/letters.html, select
one or more issues, and enter your address. A form letter will come up,
which you may modify. Your letters will be sent by mail or fax to your
Representative and your two Senators, in early January, when they are likely
to receive more attention than now. Though the names that show up are the
current officeholders, that information will be updated and your letters
will go to the correct people in the new Congress. Issues include medical
marijuana, sentencing reform, needle exchange, forfeiture reform, and general
opposition to the drug war. It's never been easier to send a message to
Washington. Please take a few moments to make sure the new Congress knows
we're here! Special thanks to Larry Hunter for creating this valuable piece
of software.
